Getting a Quote for Your Wedding Photography: What I Need From You

Congratulations on your engagement! Your wedding day is one of the most significant and personal events of your life, and finding the right photographer to capture it is key. To ensure I can give you the most accurate quote and create a package that fits your unique day, I need a clear understanding of your vision.

Providing this information upfront not only helps me prepare a fair price but also ensures that the final photos tell the story you want to remember. This guide will walk you through the essential details to include in your inquiry.

The Basics of Your Wedding Day

Start with the fundamental details of your wedding. This helps me check my availability and understand the scope of the day.

  • Date: The full date of your wedding. As wedding dates book up quickly, this is the first and most important piece of information.

  • Location(s): The address(es) for the getting ready, ceremony, and reception venues. This helps me account for travel time and any necessary travel fees.

  • Ceremony Type: This is crucial for planning the photographic coverage. Please let me know the type of ceremony you are having, as each has a different schedule and set of traditions:

    • Chinese tea ceremony

    • Church ceremony

    • ROM (Registration of Marriage)

    • Garden or beach wedding

    • Luncheon or dinner reception

  • Estimated Guest Count: This helps me understand the scale of the event.

  • Photography Coverage: What time do you need the photography to begin and end? For example, "from 7:00 AM for getting ready to 10:00 PM for the reception exit."
